The Children's Room features books that appeal to children in preschool through grade 6. At the library, you'll find the classics of children's literature as well as the popular titles of today. Looking for some ideas on what to read next? Our book lists will get you started. The Children's Room has books on tape for children of every age and a large collection of videos. The library subscribes to several children's magazines, including American Girl, Boys Life, Cricket, Kid City, Ranger Rick and Young Rider.

An online collection
of animated, talking picture books, puzzles, games, streaming audio
books and more which teach young children the joys of reading in a format
they'll love.
In the Homework Center, librarians are available to help students in grades K-6 find the information they need to complete assignments and to satisfy their curiosity. The Homework Center features three up-to-date computer systems complete with Microsoft Word 97 and a multitude of reference sources on CD-ROM. These reference sources include Microsoft Encarta Encyclopedia, The Microsoft Virtual Globe, and the Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia.

The Children's Department features a number
of computers for children's use. With a valid library card, children
can sign up to use such popular software titles as Magic School Bus, The
Oregon Trail, Paul Bunyan, and Barney. There are a number of titles from
the educational and fun Living Books series, including Dr. Seuss's ABC,
Green Eggs and Ham, Arthur's Teacher Trouble, and Arthur's Reading Race.
Other software titles include Slam Dunk Typing, Disney's Winnie the Pooh
and the Honey Tree Animated Storybook, Candyland, and Treasure Galaxy.
We have high-speed, filtered Internet access
for children ages 12 and under. Children must have parental consent
to use the Internet, and children under the age of 8 must have a parent
with them while they use the machines. For more information about our Internet
use policy, stop by the library or give us a call.
