Award-winning novelist and children's author Mary Jane Auch will join us for an author talk and book signing of her title Ashes of Roses.

Travel back in time with 16-year-old Rose Nolan, an Irish immigrant who excitedly arrives in New York City with her family only to be greeted with hardship and disappointment.  Rose finds herself working at New York City's Triangle Shirtwaist Factory shortly before the 1911 fire that took the lives of 146 employees.  It's a riveting account of one of the worst industrial disasters in U.S. history.

Individual copies of Ashes of Roses will be available for purchase at the Lockport Public Library on Floor 3 beginning the first week of September. There will also be copies available to purchase on the evening of the program.  The cost is $5.00.
